Five Fall Drinks to Warm You Up on a Cold Day

There is nothing more comforting than a warm drink on a cold day.  While the temperatures have not dropped in Mississippi, I'm still thinking about the cooler weather the heat and humidity have been brutal this past couple of weeks.  At this point, I'm trying to will fall into being.  Once the weather is cool, what are you drinking?

Here are five fall drinks that will warm you up.  These are drinks that you can enjoy both at home or at the campground.  You may even discover a drink that is just right for an upcoming party or football tailgate.  Take your drink with you for a hike or outdoor activity in a classic thermos.

Lemon Ginger Water

Drinking Lemon Ginger water is a great way to start your day.  Heat a cup of water.  Squeeze in the juice of one half to one lemon, depending on how much lemon you like.  Add a couple of slices of ginger.  You can even stir in a teaspoon of honey if you like. This drink will wake up your body and is good for immunity, digestive system, balancing your body's pH balance and more.

Mexican Mocha

Sign me up for anything chocolate and with coffee.  I encourage you to use the Mexican chocolate that comes in disks.  It has this grainy texture and rich taste.  Combined with coconut milk this is an excellent alternative to other drinks.  I used lite coconut milk to make mine.  My husband really loved this drink.

The ingredients for this drink are simple to keep on hand and easy to pack for the campground.

Rich and creamy Mexican Mocha.

Crockpot Spiced Cider

I like to set it and forget it recipes.  You can make this in your crockpot while breakfast is cooking or have it simmering while you take a hike in the morning.  This is perfect for non-coffee drinkers and is festive for fall parties!

Spiced cider just feels like fall!

The recipe calls for stevia or other natural sweeteners.  I made mine with honey because we like that it is good for allergies, sore throats, digestion and more.  You could also use maple syrup if you like.  It also has health benefits.  Just be sure to juices that are made without added sugars.

Decadent Hot Chocolate Mix

Make up a batch of this and keep it in your camper or at home.  This is excellent for an after dinner treat or a celebration breakfast.  It will surpass any store bought hot chocolate mix that you can imagine and leave everyone asking for more.  I actually made this up and gave it in batches to friends with homemade marshmallows for Christmas last year.  You need this in your life!

These were my Christmas gifts from last year.  However, once you try this hot chocolate, you might not want to share!

Hot Caramel Apple Cider for Grown Ups

All the grown-ups, raise your hand!  This is simply cider and caramel vodka.  No one wants to pass up this fun warm drink.  If you are serving this at a party, just make sure the label this drink so that persons that want to pass on the liquor can do that.

Hot drinks are this best in the fall.  I'm so tired of Pumpkin Spice Latte.  These are unique and different.  Give yourself a break from the normal fall flavors and try something new.  Your family may find a new favorite.  Ours is already the Mexican Mocha, and I can't wait to make it again!
