Fall Gear Guide 2019

Fall camping is the best!  There is nothing better than waking up surrounded by colorful foliage.

If you think the end of summer means the end of camping season, some of the best camping is in the fall.  As the temperatures start to cool, this is the prime time to enjoy the crisp air, colorful foliage and nights around the campfire.  Get your gear in check and ready to hit the campground for one of my favorite seasons of the year.  What made my fall gear guide for 2019?

Depending on where you camp, temperatures can drop quickly.  A heated freshwater hose will keep your water from freezing in the fall and winter months.  We have the Valterra heated hose that we keep in our pass-through storage for when we might need it.  It has a heated cord that you plug in and attaches to your freshwater connection.

Fall camping means hearty comfort food.  We have created our own outdoor kitchen set up with a Coleman Pack-Away Delux Portable Kitchen.  This kitchen has a spot for holding our Coleman Two-Burner Stove.  Fall is also the perfect time for Dutch Oven cooking.  You also need this Camp Maid Grill and Smoker.  It provides you with more controlled cooking in your Dutch Oven along with more versatility.  You can grill, bake, braise and more like you have never done before.  If you are a Dutch Oven fan, this is for you.  The flexibility is what makes this kit a winner!

Our Coleman Camp Kitchen is just right for meal prep outdoors.

The Camp Maid grill and smoker lets you use your Dutch Oven in new ways.  Turn over your lid and add coals to the bottom attachment for grilling and baking.  And this is just one way you can use this tool!

I'm all about the collapsible gear for saving space.  My Out of the Box Camping box last summer contained these collapsible measuring cups and spoons.  I cook a lot while cooking, and these are perfect!

Campfires mean s' mores.  Take a twist on the traditional treat with S'mores!:  Gooey, Melty, Crunchy Riffs on the Campfire Classics.  Try out some new recipes around the campfire this fall!

Add some color to your campfire with colorful flames.  This toss-in pack can be added to your fire for a color-changing glow.  I would advise doing this post s' mores.  I don't think it is a good idea to roast marshmallows over a flame with color additive (even if the pack says food safe).

Document your journeys along the way.  Add a little journal to your routine to document your journeys.  Tell about where you have traveled, favorite memories and meals.  You could even pick up a journal for everyone in your crew.  This would even make a great stocking stuffer at Christmas!

Finally, cuddle up with a Camp Casual Throw!  These throws are incredibly soft and just what you want to curl up with while drinking a cup of hot chocolate or coffee!  Camp Casual has just the right mugs for your favorite fall drink!  I really love the retro vibe of these products.  Right now, through October 31, 2019, Southern Glamper readers can receive a 20% discount using the code GLAMPER20.

I am in love with the cute and cozy throw from Camp Casual.  It is so incredibly soft and snuggly.

How are you getting ready for fall?  We are already stocked and ready for several fun trips, and we can't wait!

Until next time...
