RV Life - Spring Gear Guide 2020

Every season brings new adventures.  The journey fuels the need and interest in new things to make life easier and better on the road.  I've been curating a list of items that are practical, functional, fun and even pretty.  Today I'm sharing 10 pieces of gear for spring.  What made my list?

RV Life - Spring Gear Guide 2020

The Bodum French Press is a staple in our RV for the best campground coffee.

A watercolor Chaser from Orca is perfect for hot and cold drinks.

I'm not a coffee snob, but I am particular about my coffee.  French press coffee is my go-to at the campground.  It feels indulgent, and I believe that it has a superior flavor to drip and other coffee methods.  For your coffee or any beverage really, pick up a pretty spring Orca Tumbler.  I love this brand of American made products.  Each season, Orca offers stylish and fun prints on their chasers.  Use these insulated cups for both hot and cold drinks.  Orca Chasers also makes excellent gifts.  Mothers Day and Teacher Appreciation Week are just around the corner.

Camco's Life is Better at the Campsite coasters are light and bright!

Add some flair and a little light at the end of the day with a camping themed night light from Camco.

Camco's Life Is Better At the Campsite line is a forever favorite for me.  I have recently purchased 2-night lights that we use.  We have both the campfire night light and vintage camper night light.  They will swivel around so that it will face the correct direction regardless of the plug.  I also love my Life Is Better At the Campsite coasters.  They are bright and lightweight.  I always have a set in our RV.

Quick-dry towels are just right for the deep south humidity in Mississippi.  These are soft and wash well.

Going into the spring and summer camping season, this is the perfect time to rethink your towels.  Quick-dry towels are a must-have item in places with high humidity.  Regardless of your climate, these are practical towels.  We have a set from JC Penny that has performed well over time.  Amazon Basics also offers this type of towel.  JC Penny often has sales.    Keep an eye out and order a set for your RV.  These towels are soft, absorbent and have washed up well over time.

On Cloud shoes will keep your feet feeling great all day long no matter where the trail takes you.

If you are an outdoor adventure person or just looking to be more active, you need the right shoes.  Before my knee surgery last year, I purchased a pair of On Cloud shoes.  At first, I balked at the price.  But, they are worth every single penny!  These shoes are lightweight, provides excellent support and cushion.

Hiker Hunger Trekking Poles are light and expand to just the right height.  Get your best workout on the trail with these poles!

Spring is just right for getting outside more for walking and hiking.  Trekking poles from Hiker Hunger are a great addition to your gear for several reasons.  Trekking poles keep blood circulation moving and blood from pooling in your hands as they hang by your side.  This can lead to swelling in your hands.  They also provide additional support and increased balance.  I've enjoyed using these to help alleviate the stress on a recovering knee from a recent surgery.  Trekking poles can be used to push away brush, briars and poison oak/ivy on a trail.  You will also expend more energy with the constant arm movement making this a better workout overall.  I could tell a difference between using trekking poles and hiking without them the first time on the trail.  There are so many benefits and uses for these poles that I'm sad that I haven't started using these until now.  These poles are lightweight and come in their own carry bag.  I think these are an excellent gift for yourself or someone you love this season.  And, you can use them year-round for all of your seasonal adventures!

The Rio Brands Compact Chair will store in a small space, provides a comfortable place to sit and take up less pace in storage.

Prop your feet up after an active day in a comfy and compact chair from Rio Brands.  This chair fits into a small space for storage.  It is wide enough for any camper and provides the right support.  I also like that it is not too high and would work well for older children.  The chair is sturdy and works for more than just camping.  I have taken this chair to the soccer field.  It would work for tailgating too.

Keep your tanks clean with Tank Blaster from Thetford.

In your RV, pick up some Tank Blaster.  This is an excellent way to clean the RV tanks at the start or at the end of a season.  It will help to clean off the sensors and give you a fresh, clean slate.   Dump in a pack at the end of your first trip before you go to bed on your last night.  When you drain your tanks, you will have cleaner tanks for the whole season!

The Spring Camp Life Crate is sure to be a winner with the picnic theme.  Order now to get yours before they sell out!

Finally, gift yourself a Camp Life Crate Box.  This camping enthusiast subscription box was formerly Out of the Box Camping.  Under a new owner's direction, Camp Life Crate has announced the theme of "Life is A Picnic" for its spring box.  A few spoilers have gone out, and I think this is going to be a fun box.  You could grab one for yourself and gift one to a friend.

What is on your list of spring gear?  If you are looking for additional ideas for the upcoming camping season, check out my Camping Gear Page or my Camp Kitchen Page.  Both of these places have additional tried and true items that we still use and love!

Until next time...
